Currently... January 2015!

Happy Happy New Year! I'm quite excited about the arrival of 2015. I'm ready for a fresh year, a fresh calendar, a fresh start... How about you? Any resolutions or goals for the year? I'd love some inspiration from you... :)

Here's what's going on with me "Currently..."

WATCHING: Downton Abbey - and oh my goodness, I'm completely obsessed!
I'm always so behind the times with things like television shows, but it works out kind of nicely because Hubby and I have been watching the first four seasons and are eagerly awaiting season five to come out this month! It's much more fun for us to watch it all at once than to have to wait for each new episode to come out... And yes, we are both eagerly waiting!

READING: Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone. I know I'm always reading or watching something that has to do with Harry Potter (I'll be completely honest and admit to the fact that part of the reason why I wanted to start watching Downton Abbey in the first place was because of Maggie Smith!) okay, but really, I love Harry Potter and the start of a new year seems a perfectly good reason to start the series from the beginning again.

LISTENING: to Yiruma, a Korean pianist, whose music is just gorgeous. His music popped up on my Pandora station (I have no idea how...) and I just loved it. As promised, Christmas music officially stopped this morning, so I have his YouTube playlist turned on today. The music is so delicate. I plan to play it as background music in my office when I return to work on Monday.

EATING: New Year's cream puffs. Is that a thing? Haha. We got some for our mini celebration last night and since part of Hubby's health goals this year is to reduce his bread intake, it looks like I have a whole bunch of cream puffs to eat!

DRINKING: lots of coffee recently. I got quite a few Starbucks gift cards for Christmas and a lovely travel mug from my mom, which I'm pretty sure makes my Keurig coffee taste even more fabulous! :)

WEARING: leggings! I finally found some that are comfy around my incision area - I'm not really sure why it still hurts so much, but pants are still a no go.

MAKING: lots and lots of pom poms! Michaels had a yarn sale this week, so I stocked up on some supplies and have been busy making little pom poms as I watch Downton Abbey. Hopefully I'll have photos for you soon!

PLANNING: lessons for school. This month's focus is on college awareness, which is a favorite for me. I love using Monster's University as a way to engage the children.
I used this silly website with them last year and it was such a hit. Thank you Pixar and Disney for your ingenious creations!

TRYING: to get the Christmas decorations cleaned up in a reasonable time frame this year - meaning, not leaving things out until the fall... Haha

WANTING: to be a little better about blogging this year. I know 2014 was crazy and I'm foolish to feel like I NEED to blog. I promise, I don't feel that way, but sometimes I feel like the days slip away so quickly that I don't have a chance to post things in a timely manner. For example, I'll be sharing a card with you from November (I think!) sometime in the next week or so...

FEELING: optimistic about the year ahead of us. We're definitely ready to put 2014 behind us.

ENJOYING: the time that Hubby and I got to spend with each other this holiday season. As much as we missed seeing our family, the days were definitely slower and more relaxed without having to worry about traveling and we definitely needed that.

So what are you looking forward to in 2015?! Do share!

  1. Oh my, the music by this pianist is beautiful...! You know my love for the Korean dramas, now I am hooked to this as well! His music kind of reminds me of the Miyazaki movies:-)
