A Little Surprise...

I received quite a bit of a surprise last week when I began receiving congratulatory e-mails from some of my stamping friends... Thank you! I had no idea what it was all about at first, but I was quickly filled in by my friend Patti that one of my cards was featured on the Main Stage Jumbotron at the Stampin' Up! Convention.

I was quite shocked and tickled to hear the news! :) I wasn't there, so I missed out of all the fun, but my upline, Mary Fish, and many of the Pals were there. Thankfully, Kris Kilcoyne snapped some great photos for me. Thanks Kris!

Here, Bonnie Thurber, CASEs my card on the Jumbotron.

Here's my original card from the March Pals Blog Hop next to Bonnie Thurber's CASE. What do you think?

I'm still a bit in shock here, but I wanted to share the news with you! Thanks to all of you who shared the great news with me! I would be completely in the dark if it weren't for you! Did anyone else get to see this in person?

Pals Paper Arts Sketch Challenge

Hello! It's time again for another Pals Paper Arts Challenge! This week, we have a sketch by Margaret Moody. Won't you play along?!

DEEtails:
My card today showcases the stamped image from Forever Young stamped in Soft Suede on Very Vanilla card stock. I stamped the sentiment from Kindness Matters at the bottom in Midnight Muse, then matted my image with some Soft Suede. To add a little interest, I tucked a Soft Suede Decorative Label under the image. Then I adhered it to my Midnight Muse card decorated with some More Mustard card stock and a strip of Comfort Cafe DSP. Then I added some embellishments with some Beautiful Wings Embosslits and some ribbon.

I hope you'll come play with us at Pals Paper Arts. You can play with any of your favorite brands and products. Just use Margaret's sketch as inspiration and link up! I can't wait to see what you create! :)

Pals Summer Sunshine Blog Hop

It's time for some fun in the sun with the Pals! Glad you could join us for the Pals Summer Sunshine Blog Hop! You've probably hopped over from Nicole Picadura at Scraps & Stamps, I'm stop number 17 on the Pals Hop and I'm glad you hopped in! I'll help you "hop along" from blog to blog where you'll find great ideas for summer themed Stampin' Up! projects from the Stampin' Pretty Pals! Should you hop off course, simply click on any of the links in the Pals Hop Line-up below and you'll be back on track.

Today's project is a fun and cheerful birthday card that I put together using some of my favorite new In Colors, Summer Starfruit and Midnight Muse.

Here are the DEEtails for my card:

I started with a piece of Summer Starfruit DSP and sliced the square into triangular pieces. I adhered the rays of my sun onto a piece Whisper White card stock and matted it with some Baja Breeze. Next I die cut a doily from the Delicate Doily Sizzlits die and backed the center with a piece of Whisper White card stock. I punched out some "clouds" using the cupcake punch and adhered it to my card front with some Stampin' Dimensionals. Then I matted everything onto a piece of Midnight Must card stock, tied up with some Whisper White Baker's Twine. I stamped the sentiment from SU!'s Sassy Salutations in Midnight Muse and trimmed the edge with some pinking sheers. I attached the sentiment with some more Stampin' Dimensionals.

Now hop along for more inspiring ideas from Kim Luitle at Kim Luithle at Kims Stampin Stuff, stop number 18 on the Pals Summer Sunshine Blog Hop! Thanks for "hopping" by!

Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge

The sky's the limit with this fun new color challenge over at Pals Paper Arts! Won't you come and play along?

Here are the DEEtails for my card:

I started by stamping my images from SU!'s Up, Up, and Away onto some Whisper White card stock. I cut one image out and adhered it over the first balloon using some Stampin' Dimensionals. Then I layered my Whisper White card stock with some Daffodil Delight patterned DSP (It's hard to see it in the photo, but it has a subtle polka dot pattern). Then I added some clouds, punched with the cupcake punch. Then I added some strips of Cherry Cobbler patterned DSP and card stock at the bottom of the card along with some Early Espresso stitched grosgrain ribbon and a piece of Daffodil Delight with cut out pieces of the sentiment from Up, Up and Away. I embellished it with an Early Espresso Button tied up with some linen thread to finish things off. Hope you like it!

Remember, you can play with any of your favorite products and brands. To play along, just create something fabulous and link up at Pals Paper Arts! Can't wait to see your creation!
