Stampin' Celebration News!

Today I have some exciting news to share! For the next six months, I will be joining the fabulous Stampin' Celebration design team! I am so excited to be working with such a talented group of ladies and I hope you'll join us on the 1st and 15th of each month to create and celebrate! :)

This month's challenge features the same inspiration used in the Stampin' Celebrations Design Team call, so you'll get a peek at the cards I submitted.

My first card was inspired by the pretty coral cake on the right, while the second was inspired by the two photos on the left.

Stampin' Celebration Inspiration Challenge

Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge

August...? What in the world? I can't believe how quickly these days pass! And before you know it, it's time for another color challenge at Pals Paper Arts! Here we go...

DEEtails:
I cheated a little on this one... But it just wasn't right with that little bit of Gumball Green Stippled Blossoms leaves peeking out behind my Strawberry Slush Flower Shop flowers. I do apologize. Behind them, I layered some DSP and some Strawberry Slush card stock. More cheating - I used So Saffron since I didn't have Daffodil Delight. It's a tad on the dull side, but it works. I used a white gel pen to add some faux stitching on paper banners. Then I added some Chevron ribbon. Will the cheating ever stop?! This time I used Crushed Curry. Everything is layered over some cute chevron DSP from I Am Me and matted with some Basic Gray on my Smoky Slate card. Some Rhinestone Jewels add a little pizzazz to my card.

Cupcake Inspirations Color Challenge

It sure has been a while since I played along with the Cupcake Inspirations Team. I've still been doing a lot of behind the scenes work, but I haven't had much time to craft with the Sweeties! Here I am today for a challenge I surely could not miss!

Here are the DEEtails for my card:
This week, we're playing a color challenge with Espresso, Chestnut, and Rose. Lovely! I interpreted the colors with Stampin' Up!'s Early Espresso, Soft Suede and Rose Red. Our generous sponsor this week is Stampotique and they sent me this lovely Garden and Wild Flowers Background Stamp. It looks like it could be a page out of a book, so I decided to really make it look like one! I started by tearing the edges, then crumpled the page up a bit. I smeared a little ink along the edges and a bit around the words, then sprayed a little Smooch Spritz. The sparkle is subtle and doesn't photograph well, but I love it. :) I added a layer of Early Espresso embossed with the wood grain folder underneath my "book page," then layered on my elements. First, part of a doily (actually recycled from my experimenting with the my bridal shower card), a die cut using the Labels Collection Framelit (my current go-to product) and some Soft Suede DSP (polka dots are my fave!). Then I added some Natural Trim Ribbon and frayed the ends for some texture. The Stippled Blossoms are the perfect touch, stamped in Early Espresso and VersaMark on Rose Red card stock, then heat embossed with some clear embossing powder. The sentiment is part of one from Oh, Hello, combined with a die cut "you" from Papertrey. What do you think?

Pals Paper Arts Sketch Challenge

Hello dears! Can you believe how quickly February is flying by?! I could barely believe that it was time for another Pals Paper Arts Challenge. Here's the fun sketch that Margaret Moody has created for us.

And here are the DEEtails: 

I started with a fun polka dot pattern from the Sunshine & Spinkles DSP and added a strip of Lucky Limeade cardstock punched with the Dotted Scallop trim. I layered it over some Rich Razzleberry and added some Pretty in Pink Taffeta ribbon. I matted it with some Whisper White card stock and adhered it to a Lucky Limeade card. Then I added my pretty rose - did I tell you how much I'm loving Stippled Blossoms? I stamped it in Pretty in Pink with some Rich Razzleberry. The leaves are Lucky Limeade and Always Artichoke. My favorite part is the sentiment, of course, from Oh, Hello, stamped on some vellum and wrapped with some Lucky Limeade Baker's Twine. What do you think?

Naki and Nina's Double Dare Challenge 23

Happy weekend! It's time for a new Double Dare Challenge!

And here's my pick - a color combination... Calypso Coral, Poppy Parade, and Night of Navy



This past week was National School Counseling Week - Hello fellow counselors! :) And I received a lovely gift from my Principal, wrapped in some beautiful wrapping paper - the inspiration for this week's pick!

Anyway, here's my card...

This Stippled Blossom stamp set has been on my wish list for quite some time now... I finally got it and I am in LOVE! :) Calypso Coral and Poppy Parade flowers seemed a little too predictable, so I decided to layer Night of Navy over the Calypso Coral instead. Oh my! Of course I had to add some polka dot DSP - Poppy Parade and I added a strip of Night of Navy embossed with that awesome Honeycomb folder. I love the texture! Some Whisper White grosgrain ribbon breaks up the color a bit. I love the Itty Bitty Banners set, which I picked out as a FREE set from the Sale-A-Bration promotion. It's the perfect final touch to the card!
