Today's challenge over at Pals Paper Arts is embossing. Here's my card for the challenge. I'm also linking up to The Paper Players Clean and Simple Sketch Challenge, where one of the Pals, Ann Schach is a Design Team Member!

I decided to try out my new Framed Tulips Textured Impressions Embossing Folder from Stampin' Up!

Here are the DEEtails:

I embossed some Very Vanilla card stock and adhered it to a Rose Red card. Then I layered some pieces of Springtime Vintage DSP and matted it with more Rose Red. Razzleberry Thanks

Today's card is for this week's Just Add Ink challenge. I'm really liking this color combination.

Here are the DEEtails:

I started with some Whisper White card stock and stamped the SU! Elizabeth image in Old Olive ink. I love how beautiful this stamp is. It's hard sometimes to have a mostly white card, but I really love how gorgeous this stamp is and how well it stands out on a plain background. I added the sentiment and a Rich Razzleberry Taffeta bow and Designer Button. An extra Rich Razzleberry mat gives a sliver of color before I adhered everything to a Crumb Cake card. Hope you like this simple card!

If you haven't checked out my I {Heart} Ribbon Challenge, I'd love for you to play along!

Bliss

Ooh! I'm loving today's card! This one is for the Play Date Cafe challenge. It has such a unique color combination and some fabulous embellishments.

Check out the DEEtails:

I started off by stamping the PTI Dress Form in Perfect Plum to go along with the inspiration. I sort of just layered pieces together until I had something I loved. I included some Riding Hood Red pleats (check out the pleated skirt in the inspiration pic) with some More Mustard designer ribbon. I tucked in a More Mustard die cut with the stamped sentiment from the PTI Signature Series: Dress Form set. Then I added a ribbon flower* made with some Riding Hood Red Striped Grograin ribbon. And then my favorite touch... A while back, I fell in love with this card by Savannah O'Gwynn. I was finally able to track down those frames and nearly bought out the store. I'm finally using one on today's card. I backed it with some Perfect Plum card stock and adhered a mustard yellow rose to the center. I LOVE how this turned out. Thanks for peeking in! :)

Don't forget to make your own ribbon flower card and link up to my new I {Heart} Ribbon Challenge!

Happy Spring!

It's the first day of spring! Hooray! And today I have a great card and a yummy Cupcake Inspiration that just scream "Spring is here!" :)

Here are the DEEtails:

This card is all about layers. I felt like I was creating a diorama or playing with paper dolls as I put this one together! I printed this adorable image from this week's sponsor, Heather Ellis, quite a few times to achieve this look. First, I printed it on this cute cloud paper from SU!'s Welcome Neighbor DSP and matted it with a piece of Naturals White card stock. This gave me a bit of a guide for placing everything else, and provided the lines for that sweet butterfly. Then I cut layers of Pear Pizzazz and Certainly Celery card stock to create the grass. I printed my image a second time and adhered some Rope Twine for the swing. (I probably could have adhered it directly to my background piece, but I opted to do a separate layer just in case something went wrong...) I printed my image again to create the seat of the swing, which I simply colored in with my Early Espresso Stampin' Write and adhered with a strip of the edge of some Stampin' Dimensionals. A printing on Naturals White card stock allowed me to color in my adorable little girl using my Stampin' Write Markers - Soft Suede, Blush Blossom and Daffodil Delight). I printed yet again, this time on some In Colors DSP to add my butterfly wings and heart in the little girl's hair. Another layer on Naturals White card stock, layered with some yellow fabric from my stash to create the dress. I made my last printed layer slightly larger than my previous print outs and cut out the flowers, which I adhered to hand drawn stems. If you were counting, that's 7 printed layers! Plus 3 layers of grass! I think this might be a record! :)

Buttons (And Some Etsy Goodies)

Today I'm sharing the card I made for this week's Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger. Swoon. The inspiration photo is just fabulous. Moxie fabulous... :)

DEEtails:

I started out with some Naturals White card stock and pierced a border about the edge to mimic the detail on the cloth napkins in the inspiration. I layered another piece of card stock then piled on some of the fun embellishments simiilar to the ones that I made for my Sew Sweet card from last week. I made this button card by stamping a portion of the SU! Sew Suite stamp in Early Espresso on Crumb Cake card stock and distressed the edges a bit to give it a more vintage feel. I added buttons from my stash, simply adhered with glue dots. I punched some holes on the sides of my button card and strung through some Taffeta ribbon in Early Espresso, Very Vanilla, and Marina Mist, and wrapped it under my card stock base. I felt like the card needed a little something more, so I made the canvas dress form with the PTI die and tied a bit of Early Espresso Taffeta ribbon around it. Love it!

Last week I promised some kits in my Etsy Store and I've finally made a few. I only have a couple because I ran out of glue dots! Eek! Right now I only have this natural color combination, but am happy to make more colorful ones if you'd like, once I restock on adhesive.

Each kit comes with a canvas covered dress form, a button card, featuring 9 vintage-ish buttons from my stash, (I say vintage-ish because some are truly vintage, from my grandmother's sewing kit, while others are much newer...) and a spool of twine. Each set is different and equally fabulous. Enjoy! :)

I {Heart} Ribbon Challenge #1!

So I think you know how much I love a great challenge. I've always wanted to host my own, but struggled to come up with something that would inspire everyone. It finally hit me one day that whatever I decided to do, it had to be something that people would love. I know how much I love ribbon, so I'm hoping you love it too! After some thought, I finally came up with something that I hope you'll love. Presenting... the I {Heart} Ribbon Challenge!

The Challenge series will be all about - you guessed it! - RIBBON! I'll be hosting a fabulous new challenge every 1st and 3rd Wednesday. Plus during some challenges, I'll share something special like a ribbon discount, a ribbon tutorial, or a ribbon giveaway. I'll post a winner on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday and the prize will be - of course - RIBBON!

And now, for the challenge...

You've seen ribbon flowers on these cards and my new blog banner :)

Lots-o-Green

Welcome Back Rebecca!

Today's card is for the Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger Challenge. I'm loving this photo. I made this card for my dear friend Rebecca, who was out last week for emergency surgery. I wanted to give her a little smile this morning to let her know how glad I am to have her back! I missed her! :)

DEEtails:

I made these tissue paper looking flowers by rolling each scallop circle and peeling off a layer of cardstock from Apricot Appeal, Coral Cameo, PTI Lemon Tart and PTI Aqua Mist. Then I pinched each flower and used glue dots to adhere them to a circle die. I attached my bouquet to a some PTI Limitless Layers dies in Apricot Appeal and Coral Cameo. Then I layered on a MS doily. I added a pretty ruffle ribbon from my stash and the sentiment from PTI's Signature Greetings to a matted piece of Crumb Cake card stock and adhered my bouquet.

ETA: Rebecca's still out today... :( I hope she's feeling better soon!

Then I added some Pretty in Pink Grosgrain ribbon and a Pretty in Pink mat before adhering to my Crumb Cake card.

Woodgrain Love (And A Little Extra Love)

Here's a little card that I had whipped up a while ago and never posted. I've been busy putting together ribbon shares and haven't had much time for creating. I thought this card was fitting because I'm feeling very lovey and sentimental today. Yesterday was a difficult day for me with the news of the earthquake and tsunamis. Half my family lives in Japan, the other half in Hawaii and it was a bit terrifying with the uncertainty of it all.

I woke up to a text from my best friend, who currently works on the Big Island of Hawaii letting me know her building was being evacuated and asking how the rest of my family was. I called a few people but didn't get much news. I got to work a little shaken up and walked to my office to turn on CNN (love live streaming, by the way). And then, the best part of my day happened. The bell rang and the kids started pouring in. Little S popped into my room:

S: Hi Mrs. Dee
Me: Hi S, What's up?
S: Nothing. I just came in to give you a good morning hug!
She swooped around my desk and threw her arms around me.
S: Bye Mrs. Dee. Have a good day!

Just what I needed. :)

The rest of the day was just a blur. My usual running around and lots of stomach aches. By the end of the night, I had heard from all my family. Everyone is doing fine in both Japan and Hawaii. My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone affected by these event.

DEEtails for my card:

I started by stamping the SU! Woodgrain image onto some Natural White card stock. Then I layered on some strips of card stock - Melon Mambo with a scallop edge, some Chocolate Chip and some Crumb Cake. I stamped the flourished heart from SU!'s I {Heart} Hearts set in VersaMark and embossed it on Melon Mambo card stock, then added some neutral Designer Buttons tied up with some Linen Thread.
