Pals Paper Arts Sketch Challenge

Happy Thursday friends! Today, I'm here with a card for September's first Pals Paper Arts Sketch Challenge. As usual, our sketch is created by our fabulous Resident Artist, Margaret Moody.

DEEtails:

I took the sketch and stretched it into a rectangular card in Baked Brown Sugar with some pretty polka dotted DSP in Crisp Cantaloupe. I cut out some chevron stripes from some Baked Brown Sugar DSP and added a piece of Crisp Cantaloupe card stock. Then I added some Fine Feathers, embossed in White and  a round sentiment from Chalk Talk. Pretty simple, right? Hope you like it!

Don't forget to stop by and check out the creations from the rest of the Pals Paper Arts Resident Artists! You'll be sure to be inspired!

Cupcake Inspirations Theme Challenge

Hello dear friends! I hope you've had a lovely weekend! Today I have a fun patterned birthday card to share with you for this week's Cupcake Inspirations Challenge. Today's challenge is a birthday theme. How fun!

DEEtails:

I started by printing out my image from Wags and Whiskers on some fun chevron DSP from I Am Me. I paired it with some Birthday Basics DSP and some Basic Gray card stock. I colored in some fun accents in the image - the party hats, present and wee mouse, Squeak. I'm still torn on whether or not I should color in Ellie, the elephant. I think she might look okay, but my coloring skills aren't so fabulous and you know that once I start, there's no turning back... For now, I'm liking her chevron pattern. Then I embellished the card with some Pool Party Baker's Twine, some designer buttons, and the Chalk Talk stamp that I embossed in White on some Basic Gray card stock and die cut with the coordinating die. Hope you like it and are having a fabulous day!

Be sure to stop over at the Cupcake Inspirations Blog for some more fun birthday cards that our sweeties have designed. Then, won't you create a sweet birthday card and link up with us? We'd love to see what you create!

Pals Paper Arts Sketch Challenge

Hello there! Are you ready for another Pals Paper Arts Challenge? This week we have a fun little sketch challenge fro you from our lovely Margaret Moody
Here are the DEEtails:
Funny thing... For someone who loves to add banners to cards, I actually had a lot of difficulty with this challenge! I decided to NOT do banners and once I pulled out my feathers, the card sort of fell into place. I I started with an image from Fine Feathers which I stamped in Calypso Coral, Crisp Cantaloupe, Crumb Cake, and finally one embossed in gold. Love! It's hard to tell from this photograph, but the Whisper White background was stamped with the Hello, Doily image in VersaMark and embossed for a delicate tone on tone look. The image was perfectly stamped imperfectly (I couldn't do it again if I tried) and it works! I stamped the sentiment from Chalk Talk on some Basic Black card stock with a little bit of chalk effect. I punched holed on the sides of my ovals and tied on some White Baker's Twine. I adhered everything to a Crisp Cantaloupe DSP background.

Here's a closer look...

Won't you stop by the Pals Paper Arts blog and check out the fabulous work from our Resident Artists? Then try your hand at Margaret's sketch... Will you be using banners? Or a fun alternative? Can't wait to see your creation! :)
