I think I'm in love with Baja Breeze! :) I'm using it again today for another wintery card. This one is for the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge. Hope you like it!


DEEtails:

I started off with a large scallop trim square using Naturals White card stock. I layered on a piece of Baja Breeze. I adore Peace Doves, so I had to get the Peace Be Still stamp set and dies from PTI. This card uses several of the snowflake images inked with Baja Breeze, stamped on Naturals White card stock. Then I stamped the sentiment in Basic Gray on Baja Breeze. You can't tell in this photo, but I used my rounded corner punch on the corners of the Baja Breeze. I added my stamped layers to my square. Then I used the PTI Peace Be Still die and some white felt to create my sweet dove. I added a little eye with a Basic Gray marker, and used some glue dots to adhere him. I added some Baja Breeze Satin ribbon from Ribbon Originals: Valet, then adhered everything on top with some Stampin' Dimensionals. For the final touch, I placed some sparkly Rhinestone Jewels in the centers on my snowflakes. Ahh Peace... :)

Happy Birthday Little Bro!

Today is my little brother's birthday. I made him this card to help him celebrate. This week's challenge at wee Memories is Birthday Bash. I can always count on Jenny to have the perfect theme for my brothers' birthdays (She had a Celebrate Good Times theme the last time I made a birthday card for one of my brothers).

This card was rather easy to make. I pulled out these fun acrylic letters from my stash and cut out various circles and squares out of various card stocks and paper (Orchid Opulence, Pixie Pink, Tempting Turquoise, Wild Wasabi, Basic Black, Whisper White card stocks and Petals & Paisleys and Razzleberry Lemonade DSPs). I chose bright and playful colors for this card because it matches his personality. I arranged my shapes and letters until I found a combination that I liked and then adhered everything in place. I love how perfect the imperfetion is on this card. I hope little bro likes it too! :)

Dog Silhouette

Today I wanted to share a craft that I created a while ago... I've seen so many silhouettes of baby heads on people's blogs that I just had to make one of my own!

I started off with a couple of frames from our wedding. My husband is Irish and I'm Japanese, so we framed Gaelic and Japanese words for our table names. Here's one of them:

Then I grabbed a photo our Basset Hound from our trip back home to Ohio this summer and edited away. I cropped the photo, so it was mostly just the pup, enlarged it, then increased the contrast. I printed it, then cut her out. I traced my image onto some Woodland Walk DSP, then cut her out again. I added a couple of embellishments, like some Kiwi Kiss card stock grass and a Early Espresso 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon collar. I framed it, then added some wood stickers that I bought a while ago on clearance at a local craft store to the outside of the frame.

I made a second picture with some letter stickers from my stash, a stamp (from my Priceless set), a 1 1/4" circle punch and strips of Chocolate Chip 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon to write out her name. Here they are:


I used some 3M picture hanging strips to stick them up to the side of a bookshelf, right above her toy basket that I snagged at Target for super cheap.
