Color Inspiration (And Things To Look Forward To)

It's finally the weekend! Woohoo! I really have no plans this weekend, but I'm hoping to get caught up on some things and maybe even get planned ahead. I spent most of last weekend playing around with my blog design (which I ended up not even liking much) so I was scrambling around each night to make cards for my daily posts. If you stopped by earlier this week, please excuse the poor quality of my photos this past week. I just went through and reposted new photos.

Today's card uses the color combination from the Paper Crafts Color Inspiration magazine (page 14). It's not a color combo that I would normally choose, so it was interesting putting it together. I really planned not to use a doily today, and the first time around, the card was doily-free. But I ended up adding it because it was a little too much red for my liking (you know my crazy aversion to red).

DEEtails:

I started with a piece of patterned paper from the American Crafts Metropolitan set. I added a piece of black card stock, stamped with a sentiment from PTI's Signature Greetings. I added a portion of a doily (and I love how the curve lines up with the sentiment) and a pleated So Saffron Poly-twill ribbon. Then I added a PS Moss mat before adhering to my Moss card.

This month is a busy month for me, personally, professionally, and craftily (that's a word, right?) So, I've got lots of planning to do. Here are some things you can look forward to...

Tuesday is a brand new Pals Blog Hop. I'll be busy working on my creations for the blog hop today - I'm thinking lots of spring flowers...possibly...

This month, we have some fun new sponsors for Cupcake Inspirations, along with some great prizes, so you'll want to play along on Sundays.

You can look forward to new goodies in my Etsy shop cause I'm cleaning out! Plus Ribbon Shares should be going out next week.

I'm also hoping to put together another series of cards like I did with my Crate and Barrel cards last year. Not exactly sure yet what the plans are, but if it all works out, that should be at the end of the month).

And another exciting announcement...

I've had people ask me about my techniques for pleating ribbon, ribbon flowers, and other fun things I do with ribbon, so I'm going to be adding a new feature to my blog (which will include some details on these ribbon techniques). This will be coming up soon (about 2 weeks soon).
