Today I'm here to share three Father's Day cards for "My Three Dads". Masculine cards are always a challenge, especially because crafty goodies are usually geared towards the female population. For my cards today, I've decided to embrace these girly embellishments and throw some unexpected elements into my Father's Day cards. I hope you like them!

DEEsign 1: Unexpected Elements - Scallops and Bows

This card is for my Father-in-Law. He loves hunting and fishing and being outdoors, so I wanted the card to have a good dose of nature. I stuck with Pear Pizzazz, Crumb Cake and a Early Espresso as my main colors. I tucked a bit of scalloped Daffodil Delight for a splash of color. I stamped the Woodgrain background on some Crumb Cake and added a tree that I made with a Scalloped Circle punch and a hand cut tree trunk. I tied some Baker's Twine in a bow and added the sentiment stamped from the Something to Celebrate set on some distressed Crumb Cake card stock. I love that I can throw in some scalloped elements and a Baker's Twine bow and still have an outdoors-y feel.

DEEsign 2: Unexpected Elements - Pink and Hearts

Here's a card for my Step-Dad, who I affectionately call Dab. I decided to go with a bit of earthiness because he likes the outdoors too, but in a different way that my Father-in-Law. Dab enjoys golfing and gardening. I love the Wild Wasabi paired with some Early Espresso and River Rock. I tucked in some Wild Wasabi die cut Little Leaves with some Henp Twine wrapped around a piece of Blushing Bride Paper Patterns DSP. I included a torn book page and a bit of brown masking tape to give a little rugged look. I threw in some pink because I know Dab can handle it. He wore a pink shirt on his first date with my mom. If you recall, her favorite color is pink, so it was a hit! :) I added a little tag with a cute heart. Girly, yes. But really, it's Father's Day, and what a great time to show Dab that I {heart} him. :)

DEEsign 3: Unexpected Elements - Ribbon and Lace

Okay, really, this card is only a Father's Day card because I slapped on that sentiment, but a lot of thought went into this card for my Papa (my biological father). I decided to throw in lots of my favorite crafting elements because Papa is a big supporter of my crafts. He's always searching high and low for the perfect embellishments. He lives in Japan, so he'll always sending me great goodies like fun masking tapes, assorted buttons, stickers, etc. On my Sahara Sand base, I layered on some Striped Marina Mist ribbon and tucked in some stamped card stock, using a polka dots from Apple Blossoms on Marina Mist and Ato Z on some Pear Pizzazz. The latest hunt was for doilies, which Papa refered to as lace coasters :) so of course I had to include some doily love in this card. I love how it creates a sort of crown over my sentiment, which I tucked under some Twill Tape and Hemp Twine. The final touch was a Pear Pizzazz Big Designer Button. Love it!
