Something Blue
I don't even know anyone who is getting married anytime soon, but I just couldn't wait to use my new Blissful Bride stamp set. The DEEsign is for this week's 2 Sketches 4 You Challenge. Isn't the scalloped bottom on this card so sweet?
Here are the DEEtails:
1. Since I don't actually have a bride in mind, I wanted my card to be fairly generic. I decided to use the "Something Old, Something New..." sentiment, and use the saying as a cue for my colors. I loved the combination of Going Gray and Bashful Blue.
2. I started off making several strips of Scallop Trim for the bottom of card. My card is Bashful Blue, and I just punched the bottom of my card. Then I added a strip of Naturals White, then Going Gray on top. I added a strip of Going Gray on the bottom too, cutting the strip tall enough to come up right under where my ribbon would go.
3. Then I cut a piece of Naturals White card stock to go on the top portion of my card. I stamped my image right on, using Going Gray ink. Then I used my blender pen, dipped in some Bashful Blue ink to color in the flowers and ribbon. I dabbed the centers of my flowers with my Bashful Blue Stampin' Write marker. I added some tiny pearls from my stash to the button of the dress for an extra special touch. Then I adhered my card stock to the card.
4. I stamped the sentiment onto a piece of Naturals White card stock, then punched it out with my Scallop Square punch. I also punched a piece of Bashful Blue card stock with an EK Success punch. I find that the 1 1/2" scallop punch makes a perfect layer under the SU! punch. I adhered my sentiment to my card with Stampin' Dimensionals.
5. I used my Itty Bitty Punches to create some flowers, with little pearls in the centers. I added the clusters to my card with Glue Dots. They kind of remind me of fondant flowers on a cake. Then I added a Bashful Blue satin ribbon tied in a fluffy bow. Beautiful!
Hope you like it!
