Hello there friends! I hope you're having a lovely weekend. I can't believe it is March already! But here we are... And boy, do we have some fun for you! It's a long post today, but totally worth it. Be sure to read it all because today the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge is celebrating something big! Its our 200th Challenge - can you believe it?
I started playing along with Cupcake Inspirations back in May of 2010 when I discovered Rachel Hope's blog and challenge. Each week, Rachel selected a yummy cupcake as inspiration for crafting. I was instantly hooked! Of course, I had to apply for their next design team call and I was thrilled to be selected and work alongside some of my favorite crafters. I've been on the design team since August 2010, and although I don't always have the ability to create a project for each weekly challenge, I love being a part of it all! We've had quite a bit of changes to our design team since 2010... In fact, I'm the only one still around since way back then... so today we have a real treat!
Today's celebration includes a Blog Hop and Challenge! Woohoo! Our 200th Challenge Celebration Blog Hop features work from some of our current and past design team members of the Cupcake Inspirations team! Plus, each design team member is working with one of our favorite sponsors so you'll have over 20 chances to win lots of cool prizes! You'll definitely see lots of talent, inspiration and of course, have lots of fun! If you've come over from Michelle's blog, welcome! I'm glad that you've stopped by!
Today, I'm thrilled to be working with Downtown Tape. Our current Design Team Leader, Jen turned me on to them... let me tell you, they have some FUN stuff!
Downtown Tape is THE place to get your washi fix! With each and every tape under $2.00, you can't help but grab a handful or two (or a bucket full- we know how it is!) We ship international and love what we do!
My card features some of their fun stripes and polka dots - Six Inch Malibu Heels (vertical stripes), Old Hollywood (black polka dots), Skinny in the City (horizontal stripes), and Blissful Bel-Air (pink polka dots). Are you loving these names as much as I am? Based on these Washi Tape colors, I decided to play with this fun cupcake from Cupcake Inspirations Challenge 94. (Curious to see what I made back then? Check out this post...)
I really wanted to showcase the Washi Tape on my card, so I kept it pretty simple... A Whisper White backdrop, some cute flags from Stampin' Up!'s Make a Cake set, a Washi Tape cake, and a cake stand made with the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border and Large Oval punches and Basic Black card stock. The sentiment is from Stampin' Up!'s Sweet Scoops. I topped everything with a mini bunting made from Washi Tape - lots of fun! Then I matted my card with some Melon Mambo. What do you think?
So who loves Washi Tape?!? You know I do! Want to win some for yourself? Um, I know you do... Just leave me a comment for your chance to win! One lucky reader will receive an assortment of 10 rolls of Washi Tape from Downtown Tape! Woohoo! The contest ends Saturday, March 9th at noon CST.
Now don't forget, there's lots of other prizes in store for you in this blog hop... Next up is Patricia Garcia. I'm sure she has something lovely to share with you! And be sure to check out all of our fabulous Design Team Members below:
But, don't forget the Challenge... That's right, there's more...!
All you have to do is pick your favorite cupcake - you have 199 to choose from - and create something fun! Link up your creation to the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge Blog. Your creation will be entered into our Grand Prize Drawing... Oooh... What exactly is our Grand Prize? Over $200 worth of fabulous crafty goodies including more Washi Tape! Oh my! Seriously folks, this is one challenge that you don't want to miss!
