Naki and Nina's Double Dare Challenge 11

Sorry to keep you waiting this week... We've decided to move Naki & Nina's Double Dare Challenge to Saturdays. It's been a bit of a struggle for me to get my act together some weeks and we're hoping that a Saturday morning challenge will give me just a bit more time for last minute crafting on Friday night! Haha! Anyway, here are this week's picks:

Naki chose squares for this week's challenge

And my pick was to use orange - definitely not one of my go-to colors, but I thought I'd try to be festive this week :)

I even decided to make a festive card!

Here are the DEEtails:

I love the patterns in the Howlstooth & Scaringbone DSP. I thought it was the perfect way to add a bit of orange to my card. I cut squares and distressed the edges and adhered them to a piece of Basic Gray card stock. Then I wrapped a piece of Basic Gray satin Ribbon before attaching my cute girl from Greeting Card Kids and the sentiment from Hand Penned Holidays.

Don't forget to visit Naki's blog to see orange and squares creation this week. Then use our picks to make your own card and play along! Hope you'll join us! :)

Naki and Nina's Double Dare Challenge 10!

Wow! Can you believe that we are on our 10th week for Naki & Nina's Double Dare Challenge!? I hope you've been having as much fun as we have! Here are this week's picks:

Naki selected the inspiration image above from Disney Junior's Tinga Tinga Tales. Aren't the bright colors and patterns so fun?

My pick was to add some sparkle!

Here's what I came up with:

Here are the DEEtails:

I selected a few colors from the inspiration image that really popped out for me - the purples, blues, and a bit of green and chose a stamp set that showed off a lot of great pattern - Circle Circus. I randomly stamped the circles on some Whisper White card stock, then matted it with some Basic Black. I stamped the sentiment from the Curly Cute set on my Island Indigo card and embossed it in silver. A few Rhinestone Jewels add the finishing touches.

Be sure to check out Naki's blog to see what she made this week. Then use the our picks to make your own card and link up below!

Pals Paper Arts Sketch Challenge

This past weekend, my dear friend, Rebecca, gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. I'm in a lovely pink mood, since she was born and wanted to make something pretty and girly in honor of her. Enter this card for this week's Pals Paper Arts Sketch Challenge. Fellow Pal, Margaret Moody has created a wonderful sketch for this week's challenge. I hope you'll play along with us!

Here are the DEEtails:

I started with a Pink Pirouette card and added a strip of Whisper White. Then I added some Twitterpated DSP and stamped the Gossamer Lace image, layered with some Beautiful Butterflies in Whisper White and Vellum. For the final touch, I added Boho Blossoms and Itty Bitty Shapes punches and a Pearl Jewel. I love a simple card with lots of layers, don't you?

Be sure to pop by Pals Paper Arts to check out the rest of the Design Team's take on the sketch. Then make something yourself and link up your creation! I can't wait to see what you create with this sketch!

Hey there! Hope you're ready for another great Double Dare Challenge! Here are this week's picks:

Use your NEVER Go-To Color(s)

and make a SQUARE Card

Here's my card:

And the DEEtails:

My never go-to color is quite easily Real Red. I started with a piece of Twitterpated DSP that I adhered on a piece of Real Red card stock. I added another piece of Real Red card stock to make the card and added the Lattice die cut with Basic Gray card stock. Then I created a pretty flower using Pear Pizzazz, Real Red, Pink Pirouette, and Baja Breeze card stock and some Real Red DSP with the Fun Flowers die, Blossom punch, 1 1/4" Scallop Circle punch, and the Boho Blossoms punch. To top it off, I added a Large Pearl Jewel. It adds an extra feminine touch!

Don't forget to visit Naki's blog to see what she created for this challenge. Then get out your never go-to color(s) and create your own square card! Link up below to play along! :)

Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge

Wow! I cannot believe it's October already! How time flies! And it's time for another beautiful color challenge over at Pals Paper Arts! Don't you just love these fall hues? :)

DEEtails:

I'm actually not a fall girl... (I love summer!) but this color combination was tons of fun for me. Surprising, because it brought me out of my comfort zone a bit with all that Cajun Craze. But you know how much I love Early Espresso, which helped to tone things down! I started out with a piece of Early Espresso, which I matted with some More Mustard and placed on my Cajun Craze card. Then I embellished away with some strips of Comfort Cafe and Early Espresso DSPs, a Perfectly Preserved jar filled with pears and topped with some Howlstooth and Scarringbone DSP and some Linen Thread, and a Brushed Bronze Designer Button to finish things.

I hope you'll join us this week over at Pals Paper Arts. Remember, you can use any brand of crafting goodies to play along!
