So Kind

Isn't this a fun color combination? Today is the first Pals Paper Arts Challenge of the year, and to kick things off, here's a fun color challenge!

DEEtails:

I started by stamping some bird cages from SU!'s Aviary set in Baja Breeze on Whisper White card stock. I love the big polka dots on the strip of Paper Patterns in Pear Pizzazz that I stamped the sentiment from SU!'s Priceless set in Whisper White ink and embossed. I added a crumpled strip of Eyelet Border punch in Perfect Plum. Then I stamped the sweet bird from SU!'s Always stamp set in VersaMark ink, embossed and cut him out. I added a Very Vanilla Seam Binding bow with a cute button to add that little extra touch.

Special DEElivery:

This card was mailed off to my grandmother in Hawaii! :)

Colorful Thank You

Mona Pendleton's CR84FN Challenge has taken off and has it's own blog now! How fun! Today's card was made for her weekly challenge. Can you tell which photo from the inspiration got me creating? :)

Here are the DEEtails:

I loved the color swatches and all the fun elements in the photo on the right, so I added them all to my card! I started by overlapping strips of color on the bottom of my card - Barely Banana, So Saffron, Blushing Bride, Pink Pirouette, Apricot Appeal, Peach Parfait and Pretty in Pink. Then I adhered a Martha Stewart doily and a strip of white card stock, stamped with the sentiment from SU!'s Flight of the Butterfly set. I added some colorful Flower Designer Brads (which just happened to be the fight colors!). My dad, who lives in Japan recently sent me a care package with lots of fun Japanese Masking tape, so I knew I had to incorporate it in this card! A little strip of Pretty in Pink Taffeta Ribbon with some pale orange Japanese Masking tape finishes the card off.

Special DEElivery:

This one is being mailed off to my Auntie, Uncle, and cousins to thank them for a generous Target gift card (my favorite store!)

So Sweet

My card today was inspired by a chair from this week's Play Date Cafe Challenge.

DEEtails:

I created my flower with Rose Red card stock, using the large scallop circle from my Scallops 2 Bigz Die. I cut out the center, so I only had the scalloped edge and rolled it around a pearl brad from my stash. Then I used my Scallop die (the largest one) to make the background and used the PTI Diamonds Impression plate to get a little extra texture on my Naturals White scallop circle. I tied some Kraft Taffeta ribbon and added a Decorate Label punch, stamped with a sentiment from PTI's Signature Greetings set. I added a strip of Raspberry Tart DSP, layered over a piece of Rose Red card stock, then added a Naturals White background to my Crumb Cake card. Hope you like it!
