Check out the beautiful inspiration board:
DEEtails:
1. I immediately fell in love with the flowers in water (middle row, far right), so I started off with Bermuda Bay for my mat. I originally thought that I wanted to soften the look and use some vellum, but I loved the striking contrast once I started selecting my buttons, so I stuck with the bright color for the background.
2. Surprise! No flowers on this card! Just lots and lots of buttons! All these came out of my stash. I selected a bunch of bright pinks, some cute little yellows, a few bright whites, and a couple of reds. Buttons make me so happy!
3. It took a lot of patience, but I finally got all of my buttons threaded with DMC needlepoint floss in the same colors as the buttons. I randomly adhered my buttons to my mat in an arc shape echoing the arrangement in the photo.
4. The stone peeking out around the edges in the photo made me think of the subtle flecks in the Neutrals White cardstock, so I decided to use it for both my card and my sentiment.
5. I used the simple "thinking of you" sentiment from my Trendy Trees stamp set and used Basic Gray ink on Neutrals White cardstock. I trimmed it down to a small rectangle and adhered it to my card.
I love some of those close up photos that I've seen on other blogs, so I decided to try it out for myself. I am so not a photographer, although I'd really love to get good at it! I was really impressed with this shot!
OMG, girlie. I agree with you, It's the perfect touch for the flowers in the water. I'm a button nut too. Kudos to you.
