Kraft and Aqua Blog DEEsign

My previous blog DEEsign was inspired by the January 19th Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger Challenge:

I created a card for the challenge, but I loved the inspiration picture so much that I couldn't just stop there!

  1. You did a great job. I am awed at your creativity. How do you add a button to a blogspot blog?

  2. Hi April,
There are many ways that you can add a button on Blogger. The easiest way is probably by going to LAYOUT, then clicking on 'Add a Gadget' on your 'Page Elements' tab. Use the 'Picture' gadget to add an image that you want to use a as a button and a link to the page. Hope that helps!

  4. This is the lovliest blog I have seen. I popped across from the Mary Fish blog and what a feast for the eyes awaited me. I think you have done a super job of the blog and the card too of course. Thanks for sharing your know-how, although at this stage I have no idea how I would actually put it all together.

  7. Hi ktstamps, Thanks so much! I taught myself along the way... I sort of decided what I wanted the blog to look like and looked online to figure out how to do it. There are definitely some glitches, but nothing that really affects the functionality of the blog. I'm flattered that you think I could do a blog design course, but I honestly don't know enought to teach anyone! :)

  8. So how do you seperate your images after you scan them? I have photoshop and can't seem to do it well - of course I haven't tried it from a card pic yet, just pics of my kids. I would love some tips.

  9. Hi Christina, I know it's been too long, but I really don't have a good answer for you, so I've been avoiding the question! Haha :)

I don't use Photoshop, so I really can't answer your question... I use a combination of Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Publisher, and Gimp. I try my best to scan images in separately if possible. Sometimes that means taking pieces of my cards apart or recreating elements so I can scan them solo. Then I use the Smart Scissors tool (I think that is what it is called) on Gimp to cut around my image. I also sometimes use Publisher and use the Edit Wrap Points (I think that's what it's called!) feature, usually for straight edges and basic shapes. It's a little confusing and takes a lot of patience! Good luck!

  11. Here's my strategy for separating images from one scan or photo. I copy the image. So if I have 5 images in one photo, I copy it 5 times and rename each for the element that I'm isolating. Then I crop the scan or photo of each copy to isolate a specific image and repeat. I like to do this in Windows Live Photo Gallery, but it can be done in PS too.

    I hope that helps.
