P is for...

I kid you not when I tell you there is a baby boom at my school. Last week, we had our 3rd shower of the year for mommies 4 & 5. Plus, there's more to come... :)

One of our Kindergarten teachers is expecting her first in June. I heard through the grapevine that she has a thing for circles and that her baby bedding even features big polka dots. So after a bit of investigating, I found out that the bedding is Penelope from Pottery Barn Kids

I decided to create a bit of artwork for the nursery.

I even wrapped it in polka dot tissue paper. :)

Aside from the bedding being the cutest thing ever, it may just be the cutest thing that the bedding matches baby's soon-to-be name. Yes, the P is for Baby Penelope! :)

I also created some nursery art for Laura's baby girl, but forgot to snap photos before I wrapped it. Laura has promised me some photos, so I'll be back (hopefully soon) with some pics.

A Grad Card

After a long break from the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge, I'm finally back with a card to share. This week's challenge is a graduation theme with this adorable owl cupcake cake.

DEEtails:

My "Big" Brother is graduating from high school next weekend. I just received his graduation announcement in the mail, so I thought I'd make a simple card with his school colors. I used  Handsome Hunter and More Mustard to mat my images from DRS Designs, our sponsor this week. I love the sentiment. :)

Here's another photo of my card, with Big Bro's graduation announcement. I think the colors look pretty good together.

Pals Paper Arts Sketch Challenge

Hello there! I know our meetings have been rare lately... I promise things will get back to normal (or at least closer to normal) once things at school wrap up. For now, let me share my card for today's Pals Paper Arts Challenge.

This week's challenge is a sketch by our fabulous Margaret Moody. I decided to turn it on its side and embellish it a bit... I hope you like it!

DEEtails:

I started with a Soft Suede card and added a strip of Twitterpated DSP and a Label Framelit in Very Vanilla, stamped with a sentiment from SU!'s Full of Life set. I tied on some Chocolate Chip Baker's Twine and added a flower from SU!'s Mixed Bunch, stamped with Not Quite Navy ink. I added a punched Boho Blossom and a Crumb Cake button to finish things off.

I hope you'll play along with us at the Pals Paper Arts. I can't wait to see what you do with this great sketch!

Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge

Well hello there! I know I've been hiding for a while. I'm terribly sorry. I just can't seem to get my life together ever since we came back from our trip to Japan. Hopefully I'll get it together soon! Until then, stop by Pals Paper Arts and play along with our fun color challenge!

The DEEtails:

I totally CASEd this card. I love using my Stampin' Up! Idea Book and Catalog for some quick inspiration. I started with a piece of Baja Breeze card stock and stamped the tall bird cage from SU!'s Aviary set. I added a little stamped bird from the same set, that I cut out of some Calypso Coral card stuck and adhered. Then I embellished my strip of Baja Breeze with some Calypso Coral card stock and patterned paper, using the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border punch and Scallop Edge Border punch. Then I added a sentiment, stamped from SU!'s A Little Birthday Cheer on a strip of Calypso Coral. Then I added some fun blooms across the card, using the Boho Blossoms punch and Itty Bitty Shapes punch along with a couple of So Saffron buttons. Hope you like it!

Don't forget to play along with the PPA Color Challenge. You'll have two weeks to play along and can use any brand of product you like! I can't wait to see what you come up with using this fun color combination!
