Naki and Nina's Double Dare Challenge 21

Hello friends! It's time again for another lovely Double Dare Challenge! :) This challenge was lots of fun!

Naki's pick this week is to use goodies from the Sale-a-Bration promotion. Fun!

And my pick is to add bunting. Love! :)

Here's what I created...

Here are the DEEtails:

The only Sale-a-Bration product I used for this challenge is a piece of DSP from the Sycamore Street line as the background. When I originally pulled the pack of DSP out to use for this challenge, I envisioned using a lot of fabulous patterns, but I ended up using only one! I pulled out some other fun elements from my craft supply that I haven't pulled out in a while, like washi tape, cork board, Smooch spritz (for a subtle shimmer on the cork) and the cupcake punch (for the clouds). Of course, I had to use the Oh, Hello stamp set. :) What do you think?

Don't forget to visit Naki's blog to see her take on the challenge. And then, get out your crafty goodies and play along with us!

Naki and Nina's Double Dare Challenge 20

Hello, hello! It's Double Dare Challenge time! :) Get ready, get set, craft!

This week, Naki wants us to use Linen Thread.

And my pick is to use doilies. Ooh... :)

Here's what I came up with...

Here are the DEEtails:

When I originally made my pick, I was thinking of a delicate card with a lovely white doily... But this polka dot print front the Sycamore Street DSP was calling my name to create a playful doily with the Delicate Doilies die. I layered it with a pretty white MS doily and a Pop-up Posies flower adorned with a Sycamore Street button tied up with some linen thread. I tucked a few Summer Startfruit tags as leaves under my flower, then stamped the Oh, Hello sentiment in Whisper White on a Summer Starfruit banner. I adhered everything to some Not Quite Navy cardstock embossed with the Honeycomb folder and matted with some Pool Party card stock on a Calypso Coral card. A little unexpected, but lots of fun!

Be sure to pop over to Naki's blog and see what she did with this challenge. Then pull out some doilies and linen thread and play along with us! You'll have until next Saturday to play along with us! We can't wait to see what you create!

Pals Paper Arts Sketch Challenge

Hello lovelies! It's time for another Pals Paper Arts challenge. This week, we have a beautiful sketch from our Resident Artist, Miss Margaret Moody. Won't you play along? :)

DEEtails:

I played around with this sketch for a while, and finally decided that turning it upside down looked best with my flowers and bold colors. I used the Secret Garden and Oh, Hello stamp sets here. I know... I've been using them a ton lately. You're not tired of them yet, are you? I stamped the flowers on Rich Razzleberry and Calypso Coral, cut them out and layered the petals with some Stampin' Dimensionals. I  layered everything on Island Indigo card stock and Sycamore Street DSP. Love! The sentiment was tucked under the DSP. I love how it ever so slightly hangs over the edge of the matted cardstock. What do you think?

Hope you'll play along with our challenge this week! I can't wait to see what you create. I wonder if you'll be flipping this sketch too, or playing with it as it is...?

Here's Some Love To Keep You Warm

Hi there! Hope you're having a lovely weekend! I'm here today with an adorable Cupcake Inspirations Challenge for this week.

Before I start with the DEEtails for my card, let me apologize for the icky pink tint in my photo... I'm not sure what is going on, but the coloring is not quite right...

And now, the DEEtails:

I started off with this adorable image from Bugaboo stamps. I printed my little penguin on Basic Black DSP and Whisper White card stock for this card. Then I added a felt scarf. It needed a little zing, so out came the rhinestone jewels. :) I printed the sentiment using a fun font and added some fuzzy letters from My Mind's Eye. They really are a pretty shade of blue, but like I said, the coloring is not quite right in my photo... Everything is matted with Basic Black and mounted on a Pool Party card - I told you the colors are weird!

Now, won't you play along with us at Cupcake Inspirations? You can create any sort of card or project you want... Just be sure to add penguins! :)

Naki and Nina's Double Dare Challenge 19

Hi friends! We're back again with another great Double Dare Challenge!

Naki's pick this week is to use the Print Poetry DSP.

My pick was to use a border punch.

And here's my creation:

Here are the DEEtails:

It was really difficult for me to decide which DSP to use from the Print Poetry pack! I decided on this Crumb Cake doily print and and matted it with some Very Vanilla card stock. I added some Midnight Muse, punched with the scallop border punch and added the Oh Hello sentiment stamped on some Very Vanilla die cut with the Labels Collection. I added some leaves stamped from the Secret Garden set and added a flower made with the Pop-up Posies set and a button tied up with Linen Thread. What do you think?

Don't forget to stop by Naki's blog to check out her creation. And then come play along! Just link up your card by next Saturday to play along!

Today I've used several of my favorite products from the new Spring Catalog. Let's start from the beginning... Shall we? I used the lovely Honeycomb Impressions Embossing Folder with some Basic Gray card stock and matted it with some Whisper White card stock that I had stamped with the sentiment from the Oh, Hello set. Love that set! :) You know that I love doilies, so of course I had to add one of theose. I wrapped some stitched satin ribbon in Primrose Petals and a fun striped banner from the Hearts a Flutter set. I finished things off with some pretty blooms from the Secret Garden set that I stamped on Primrose Petals DSP and Garden Green cardstock. I layered everything on my Garden Green card and I was set! I sure packed a ton of new product into one card! :) Hope you like it!

Celebrate!

Hello there! Today I'm excited to share a fun card for the first Cupcake Inspirations Challenge of 2013! There are a few new changes to the challenge, which you may notice below...

Although inspiration challenges are my personal favorite, we know that sometimes the inspiration doesn't pop right out of a card for everyone, so we've updated our challenge to include color palettes and themes that alternate weekly. Plus, 2013 is a big year for us, as we'll be celebrating our 200th challenge in the spring. Which is why I thought this card was quite fitting on several levels. :)

Are you ready for the details?

I started with a Basic Black card base and stamped the sentiment from Outlined Occasions. I embossed it in silver and added a few rhinestone jewels to add some extra pizzazz. Then I tied some ribbon around my card - some Whisper White taffeta ribbon topped with some sparkly ribbon from my stash. I created my champagne flutes with the oval punch and circle punch using some pretty Brushed Gold card stock. I adhered them with some Stampin' Dimensionals and added some more rhinestone jewels to finish it off. Hope you like it!

Now hop over to the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge blog to see what the other girls created and be sure to play along!

Naki and Nina's Double Dare Challenge 18

Well hello there! Naki and I are back after a nice holiday break to play in our fun little challenge! If you're not familiar with our Double Dare Challenge, here's how it goes... Each week, the two of us pick an element of a card we want to challenge each other to include. Then we combine our challenges to create something fabulous. We never know what we'll be picking and sometimes our picks are pretty interesting... Hope you're ready to play this week!

Naki's pick this week was to have one layer

My pick was to include blue.

Here's what I came up with...

Here are the DEEtails:

This challenge was HARD! Notice that I didn't do too well with just one layer... Uh... I hope that little tag doesn't count as a layer?!? I was watching the movie Rio right before I started crafting. Perhaps this was the inspiration for my little blue bird? :) I started with a Crumb Cake card and stamped various cages from the Aviary stamp set. Then I added my little bird in one of the cages. A simple stitched grosgrain knot and a strip of Whisper White card stock with a cute sentiment from PTI and I was done! Hope you like it.

Don't forget to visit Naki's blog and say hello! And then get out your crafty goodies and play along! Link up your card below to join in the fun! :)

Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge

Well, hello there! I hope you're having a grand start to your new year! :) I am so excited to share our new Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge with you today!

We have some wonderful updates to the challenge this year, including brand new color combinations and sketches! I'm especially thrilled about our color challenges... I got to sit on the team to help pick out the color combinations and boy, are they fabulous! Plus, we'll have even more winners this year, with each Resident Artist selecting a winner each week! Yes, that means, I may just pick YOU as a winner! :) So you'll definitely want to play along!

Now, on to the DEEtails of my card...

I'm loving the look of chalkboard art and I've been dying to try out this tutorial by Betsy Veldman. I started with some Basic Black cardstock and heat embossed my sentiment from Oh, Hello and a striped banner from Hearts a Flutter from the new spring catalog with some VersaMark and white embossing powder. Then I added some smudges using a sponge dauber and some Whisper White ink. I added some lines with a white gel pen and matted the piece with some Melon Mambo. Then I stamped some hearts from Hearts a Flutter on some Melon mambo and Basic Gray card stock and hung them across my card with some white Baker's Twine. I adhered everything to a Basic Gray card to frame it out. I'm loving it!

Now won't you play along with us? Just create something lovely with this fun color combination and post it to Pals Paper Arts! Hope you'll join in the fun! :)
