Naki and Nina's Double Dare Challenge 7

Hey there! Are you ready for another Double Dare Challenge!? Before I start, let me share the exciting news about Naki's card last week... It was a CAS Favorite at Split Coast Stampers! Hooray for Naki! :) Now on to this week's picks...

Naki picked the Twitterpated DSP.

My pick was to use a button.

Here's my card for this week's challenge:

Here are the DEEtails:

I love love love this neat little pattern from the Twitterpated DSP. I decided to use it in the background of my card and punched the Blossom on a piece of Island Indigo card stock. I adhered it to my card with some Stampin' Dimensionals and added a Boho Blossom and Real Red button. I attached the sentiment from Friendly Phrases on some Whisper White card stock, then added some layers along the edge of the card - Whisper White punched with with the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border and Cherry Cobble punched with the Scallop Edge Border, backed with a strip of Island Indigo.

Now go visit Naki and see what she came up with. Then get out some Twitterpated DSP and buttons and play along! Can't wait to see what you come up with!

Naki and Nina's Double Dare Challenge 6

Time for another Double Dare Challenge! Here are our picks for this week:

Naki picked a fun color combination: Pacific Point, Basic Black, and Whisper White

My pick was to make a birthday card.

Here's my take on the challenge:

DEEtails:

I'm trying to get a head start on birthday cards, since my family has a number of fall birthdays. My baby brother turns 15 soon (um, I hope he's not checking out my blog...) and the bright bold of Pacific Point reminds me of him, so this challenge worked out perfectly! I really wanted some bold black and white patterns, but didn't have anything good in my stash, so I went with some Basic Black DSP. I'm quite enjoying the patterns here. Then I added a piece of zig zag along the edge. I stamped part of the sentiment from the retired Afterthoughts set. Then I die cut some numbers in Pacific Point and added them with some Stampin' Dimensionals. Pretty simple, but I love the boldness. What do you think?

Don't forget to check out Naki's blog and see her take on the challenge. And then create something yourself! What are you waiting for? Link up below! :)

Pals Paper Arts Sketch Challenge

Hi there! Today's Pals Paper Arts card is bold, fresh, and fun, using another fabulous sketch challenge from Ms. Margaret Moody! What will you create with this sketch?

DEEtails:

I started with creating this beautiful bloom. I punched some 1 1/4" scalloped circles and layered them over some Fun Flowers die cut in Raspberry Ripple and Primrose Petals. The center of my flower features a cute Summer Starfruit Dahlia. I loved the bold design of the DSP from Patio Party for this card and added some additional strips of DSP to finish things off. So simple, but I love the boldness of the flower and pattered papers.

I hope you'll join along in this week's fun! Hop on over to Pals Paper Arts to see what the rest of the Design Team created and link up your creation! I can't wait to see what you make! :)

Naki and Nina's Double Dare Challenge 5

Hey there! Hope you're ready for another great challenge! Here are the picks for this week:

This week, Naki picked argyle...

While my pick was to use the Perfectly Preserved stamp set.

Here's what I came up with...

DEEtails:

I love this pretty pink argyle pattern from the Patio Party DSP. I paired it with some Raspberry Ripple for a sweet, girly card. I stamped the jar image from Perfectly Preserved onto some Baja Breeze card stock and cut it out. I tied on some Raspberry Ripple stitched grosgrain ribbon and adhered my jar to some Whisper White card stock. Then I added some stems in Gumball Green and some pretty Raspberry Ripple blooms using the Fabulous Florets set. I tucked a sweet doily underneath for a little extra something. What do you think?

If you haven't already done so, stop by Naki's blog and check out her card for the challenge. Then get crafty yourself and link up your creation! We can't wait to see it!

Naki and Nina's Double Dare Challenge 4

Happy Friday everyone! Could the weekend come any sooner? Please!? :) I can't even begin to tell you about the week we've been having... But anyway, here we are... It is Friday... I have survived and am here to share our fun little challenge! Here are the picks for this week:

Naki's rule was to use only 1 stamp. We can use the image as many times as we'd like, but it can only be one image.

My choice was to use chevron stripes. I. Heart. Chevron. :)

Are you ready? Here we go!

DEEtails:

So I'm back to blue... Haha! I promise, I didn't plan that :) I started with strips of Whisper White card stock that I adhered diagonally to my Night of Navy card stock pieces. Then I assembled them together on a piece of Brushed Gold card stock. I love that bit of gold peeking out. Then I stamped some pretty flowers from SU's Array of Sunshine (retired) in Calypso Coral and adhered them with Stampin' Dimensionals. Isn't this color combination fun?

Make sure you check out Naki's card this week. And then pick your crafty brain to create something fun. We'd love to see what you come up with! Just link your card below!

Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge

Guess what time it is? Yup! It's time for a new Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge! This week's color combination is a potentially SPOOKY one...

DEEtails:
I'm not really ready for something spooky just yet, so I went with bright and cheerful instead! :) I started with some Elegant Eggplant DSP and matted it onto some matching card stock. Then I added a strip of Whisper White, edged with a bit of Elegant Eggplant in the form of the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border. I stamped the sentiment from Sassy Salutations, which is my go to stamp set these days. I added some blooms using the Fabulous Florets set and some Stampin' Dimensionals and added a little taffeta bow to finish things off. Hope you like it!

Won't you join in some Pals Paper Arts fun? You can use any brand of product that you like! Just stick to this color combination and make something wonderful. Will you go with spooky or fun? Can't wait to see! :)

The Counselor Is In...

So I survived the first week back to school... Well, just barely... :)

It seems I spoke too soon when I told you last week that things were calmer than usual. Basically, Friday kicked our butts. Haha! Thank goodness we had a three day weekend to recover...

Unfortunately, I've spent the weekend sick in bed while my dear hubby cares for our sick puppy.

But enough of this boohoo talk! On to more exciting things!

I've been working on my office door and am finally ready to unveil it... Tada!

And here's the bulletin board that sits right next to it.

Too bad what is beyond the door isn't ready too share yet... In due time, my friends :)

Meanwhile, I must get going and rest up before tomorrow's Open House!
